Conor is back: UFC says McGregor will fight Oct. 6 in Vegas
Being undersized has never been an issue for Cormier in MMA. He really made a name for himself in Strikeforce, beating the likes of Josh Barnett and Antonio Silva to be the final heavyweight champion in the organization before it was acquired by the UFC. Despite being under six feet tall with just a Statistically, Cormier is very strong. He secures nearly two takedowns per 15 minutes in the cage with an impressive 42 percent success rate on takedowns.
Cormier has very good footwork for the weight class and does well to close distance and force opponents to fight him at close range. In 23 fights, his hand has been raised in all but one of those matches. Jones returns to action for the first time since an April decision win over Ovince Saint Preux, This fight will truly clean out any relevant contenders in his weight class. Jones uses his length very well. He lands a whopping 2.
That puts him right near the top of the UFC in that category as well. He combines that with 94 percent takedown defense. Of course, for any fight to have action, both listed fighters must enter the ring for it to count. If one of the listed fighters withdraws and is replaced, all bets made on the initial matchup are void. Two fighters will enter, one will usually leave victorious.
A panel of three judges score every bout, so even if both fighters are left standing at the end, a decision will be rendered, and one will usually be declared the winner. Or if Judge 1 has the blue corner winning, Judge 2 has the red corner winning, and Judge 3 has it scored a draw, the fight will be ruled a split draw. Off canvas trouble has held Jones back for years, but he still owns a stellar record and looks slated to win the Light Heavyweight title. There is no denying that Jon Jones is the better talent and superior overall fighter, but the first bout still went five full rounds and Cormier has never been knocked out.
Are we seriously backing Evinger for what seems like a massive upset? Not at all, but Cyborg is toeing the lines of her prime at 32 years of age and will be fighting her third ever bout in the UFC. Probably not, but Evinger still might be worth a flier bet. Justino is the obvious and overwhelming favorite at TopBet. Good luck this weekend! Your email address will not be published.
